CHALLENGE: Maintaining the Talent Pipeline
NSTAR Global Services is a leader in asset relocation, facility and equipment maintenance, and workforce management services for the high tech infrastructure and advanced manufacturing facilities. One of its core service offerings is direct-hire services. With the semiconductor industry’s aging workforce, the decrease in the talent pipeline and high turnover, it had been more challenging than ever for NSTAR to meet its clients’ staffing needs. They needed a plan to attract and retain new talent.

STRATEGY: Priming the Pump
Our strategy was two-fold: we needed to help NSTAR prime the pump to continue its recruitment efforts by attracting new hires, while also prioritizing current employee retention to help keep them. We met regularly with the recruitment team brainstorm ideas and strategically plan campaigns around these hiring and retention goals.
We put all our services to work for NSTAR to create compelling campaigns, including creative, content, digital marketing, and website development. Our campaign recommendations focused on promoting the company’s employee-centric corporate culture, dedication to military veterans, and technical school graduates.
RESULTS: A steady Stream of Success
We created and deployed a tremendous array of deliverables to drive recruitment, including: a new website dedicated to careers at NSTAR, a company blog, customized, branded sales collateral, infographics, and exhibition materials, led a multi-year, highly successful “Faces of NSTAR” social media campaign that publicized the accomplishments of featured employees. Other tactics included an internal quarterly newsletter to welcome new hires, celebrate work anniversaries and recognize performance awards, as well as fostering relationships with key contacts at technical schools and military bases to grow the company’s talent pool.
As result, we’ve helped shift the demographic of NSTAR employees, to ensure a constant workforce flow will be available to the semiconductor industry into the future.
